Dearest Fandom 5k author, you beauty you!

 

I have requested some new fandoms for me and some lasting obsessions. I've given prompts because I personally find them helpful but obviously they are more, to quote a slightly tainted franchise, guidelines than actual rules (except the DNWs, natch). The most important thing is that you have fun and follow your joy.

 

Thank you for choosing to offer one of these fandoms and I can't wait to read what you write.

To start with here's the general things I love and don't so much in fanfiction:

 

Likes

 

historical details and flavour, exploration of unhealthy or un-ideal power dynamics, gothic tropes and otherwise spooky spookiness, guilt (religious or otherwise), religious themes, loyalty, dark humour, gallows humour, playing with medium (i.e. epistolary fics, in-universe documents etc, hurt/comfort, doomed lovers, unrequited love with the lover being Noble and Suffering, unpleasant people being unpleasant, wounded (physically, previously or currently, or psychologically) people being wounded, complicated people being complicated

 

Kinks and smutlikes

 

characters with hand kinks, size kinks, clothes kinks, height/size differences, age differences; characters having/doing hatesex, partially-clothed or mostly-clothed sex, oral sex, handjobs, frottage, intercrural, rough sex, body worship, semi-public risky sex, breathplay, historical sexual practices, one-night stands and one-night stands that turn into something more, sex for comfort and solace; characters who like violence (face-slapping, mutual roughing up or getting roughed up, etc.); and friends/enemies/strangers with benefits, historical sexual practices and meeting places, fancy clothes and dressing/undressing. Oh and, and I cannot stress this enough, *manhandling*.

 

Dislikes

 

first person POV generally unless the canon is in FP, unrequested setting/gender/fundamental things/crossovers or fusion!AUs (canon divergent events are good though), omegaverse/BDSMverse, pregnancy, mpreg, oviposition, scat, watersports etc, curtain!fic, kid!fic, marriage!fic (including woke up married, Vegas-married, and arranged marriage) This year I would also prefer no references to current politics or politicians, modern-style transphobia or homophobia, or anything around COVID-19.

 

FANDOM SPECIFICS:

 

Shakespeare RPF | Elizabethan & Jacobean Theatre RPF

Christopher Marlowe/William Shakespeare (Shakespeare RPF), William Shakespeare/Henry Wriothesley (Southampton)

 

Look, every piece of media remotely related to these twerps I am here for and every time I hear/read the word Deptford I cry. Though! Happily, I like to cry so please feel free to kill Kit Marlowe. I am also here for:

 

- Period accurate bantz!

- Obsession and rivalry and spying! The third one is mostly Kit but if we're Will we could be blissfully unaware or suspicious or worried and trying desperately to hide it, any of these and I will be thrilled!

- Drunk bad idea sex! Always.

- This is one of the fandoms where my HISTORICAL DETAILS PLZ thing really comes into itself so the dangerous streets of London! Taverns! Evading the authorities about the spy stuff, the catholic stuff, the gay stuff!

- For Shakespeare/Southampton I would love to see some class difference stuff. We know very little about how they came to be acquainted but accepting that Wriothesley was the 'fair youth' what does he think of Shakespeare's extravagance? Is he happy with being portrayed as fickle, lascivious, sensual to a fault/his shame? Does he perhaps enact some small sexual revenges for being so maligned?

 

Honestly with this one I’d love straight up smut or plotty playwriting/espionage stuff, anything; I will be thrilled.

The ultimate Christmas film! I requested this one at Yuletide and did not receive so in desperation I am here again.

 

- Antagonism! Horrible threesomes. Fraught jealousy ridden boning.

- what would this canon be without doublespeak and schemes and plots! anyone can be the plotter and they can be out to undo anyone else and I will adore reading it

- Nice simple pwp: Richard goes a bit too far with the old brute strength and deals with the consequences? (This is more a Geoff/Richard prompt than a Richard/Philip one I feel, but if you have a great idea please go for it! Follow your joy!) For Geoff/Philip maybe something still with the shadow of Richard hanging of it?

- Did I mention threesomes? Did I mention threesomes treated like negotiations over territory? Honestly these three playing the most convoluted and fraught game of musical beds is *chef's kiss*

- Also, bringing up military tactics in bed and one being unable to switch off until the other person/s... make them (let's be honest when I say "one" I mean Richard). I am a simple woman.

 

Frankenstein

Henry Clerval/Creature, Victor Frankenstein/Creature

 

- Clerval as hostage to make sure Victor creates the bride? Do they bond over poetry?

- For Victor/Creature, Victor tried to make a *beautiful* new man. Why was it important that he be beautiful and what do the parts he chose say about what Victor sees as beautiful?

 

Ravenous

John Boyd/Ives

 

- Dark comedy! Eternal bloody murder fuelled dark comedy!

- Cannibals cannibalising each other? To desire is to consume etc. etc.

- Honestly I have very little by way of actual prompts here so I'll refer you back up to my likes and wish you luck!

Again these are all just suggestions, I'm sure I will love whatever you create for me and I cannot wait to enjoy your work!
